Help keep our communities safe around water.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on community support and donations to continue delivering life saving water safety programs across South Australia. Every contribution helps us prevent drowning and save lives.

Why your support matters.

Every year lives are lost to drowning, and many of which are preventable.

Access to quality water safety education and training gives people the confidence and skills to identify and respond to emergency situations while protecting themselves and those around them. Royal Life Saving SA believes it is this education and training that prevents drownings in our communities.

Your support ensures that adults and children in vulnerable communities have access to essential programs and education sessions that lead to safer behaviours around water.

Together, we can eliminate drowning and empower communities to be safe around water.

What your donation will contribute to.

  • Educating communities – Delivering accessible water safety, CPR, and first aid education through community programs and workshops for people of all ages and backgrounds.

  • Helping children Swim & Survive – Helping children access practical swimming and water safety programs that build confidence, lifesaving skills, and safer behaviours around water.

  • Providing resources – Equipping individuals with lifesaving knowledge and tools to ensure they are prepared, confident, and safe around water.

  • Advocating for change – Working to influence policy, improve safety standards, and drive initiatives that create safer environments around waterways.

What we know.

These statistics highlight critical gaps in water safety education across vulnerable communities.

With your support, we can change this. Your donation helps us deliver targeted programs that save lives and move us closer to a water-loving nation free from drowning.

Not all drowning incidents are fatal. Non-fatal drownings can have lifelong consequences, including ongoing medical complications, significant financial burden, and lasting trauma for both victims and their families. Children remain the most at-risk group nationwide, with swimming pools identified as the leading location for non-fatal drowning incidents.

Prevention through early education, awareness and access to water safety initiatives is key to avoiding these long-term consequences.
